Reigate Hill

Reigate Hill Wray Lane Reigate  Surrey RH2 0HX Meeting a friend and wanted to go for a walk somewhere different last week and came across Reigate Hill online.  Its actually a national trust and didn't realise it was so close to me!  There is a small free car park with a little cafe/kiosk (with outdoor picnic tables only) were we had lunch before heading home. The car park is in the middle of Reigate Hill and Gatton park.  We decided to do the hill walk, the wooded paths took us to bits of an old fort and some beautiful countryside views.  There was also a bomb crater perfect for rolling down and climbing back up! There was further we could have gone but Oliver was very tired that day, so it would be nice to go back and explore further another time.  We also didn't get to Gatton park so that is now on my list of things to do this summer!  I would recommend this if you want a quiet walk somewhere local with countryside views, it was perfe

The Llama Park - Forest Row Sussex

Image
The Llama Park  Wych Cross Forest Row East Sussex RH18 5JN We arranged to meet up with family and wanted to go somewhere between our two homes so we settled on trying out the Llama park! Its not just llamas there are other farm animals - pigs, sheep, goats, chickens, Shetland ponies and a random reindeer! You can buy a bag of food to feed certain animals at the entrance.   The walk around the fields and animals did not actually take very long, we probably spent an hour walking before we had got back to the start. Although there was a woods that could be explored but it was not very buggy friendly.  The rest of the park was fine for buggies - a little bumpy in places but not unmanageable.      Once you have walked around the animals you get to the picnic and play area.  They have a permanent bouncy castle that's free to go on as much as you like.  This was a bit hit with Oliver and my nephew Max! I may have had a little turn... The play area

Fishers Farm Park

Fishers Farm Park Newpound Lane Wisborough Green West Sussex RH14 0EG Oliver loves a farm and I do too, so i am always looking for a new one to explore.  This time we decided to visit Fishers Farm park which is about an hours drive from us.  This was back in early March and it was pretty chilly and very wet, but we had our coats and wellies so not a problem! What child doesn't love a muddy puddle! We went on a midweek afternoon with my dad and it was literally empty, we pretty much had the whole place to ourselves! Its a lovely farm with so much to do.  Animal petting and feeding which is always fun for little ones.  Oliver loved being able to get in with the rabbits.  We fed the goats, there were baby piglets and mummy even fed a cow an orange.  Lots of the usual farm animals to see.  Seeing new born rabbits in a basket was possibly the cutest thing iv ever seen.  Spring is always a lovely time to visit a farm with all the new additions being born.       B
