Just after the lock down restrictions eased up a bit, we were looking for somewhere quiet and new to explore.  I came across Peter Rabbits Woods online and myself and a friend decided to meet there to see what it was like.  What a great little find!!

There is free parking at Ridlands lane however it is a tiny car park and we went before the summer holidays on a drizzly day, so it might be worth checking other places to park in case it is full, thankfully we were lucky! Although it isn't somewhere you would spend a whole day so there are people coming and going.

So wellies on, we set off to explore and along the way down the woodland trails we came across little homes of the characters from Peter Rabbit.  At Peters post office you could post a letter, we weren't really prepared but my friend had an envelope so we posted it full of leaves that Oliver collected.  Then a few days later my friend sent Oliver a letter saying thank you from Peter.  Oliver couldn't believe his eyes, bless.

You will find Badgers Barracks, Hedgehog Hall, Foxs Villa, Owls house and others dotted around the woods.  They are all made from natural materials found in the woods mostly and it felt quite magical especially as Oliver believed it was really Peters woods. He even brought a storybook from home which had a map in it (of course not of Limpsfield) and he was telling us which way to go according to his map!

There is a main path most of the time but we often went more into the woods, so you could take a pushchair but better if you can go without so you are less restricted. I think there were a few benches but we sat on logs in the woods to eat our lunch sheltering from the drizzle under the trees.  It is a bridleway aswell and we saw a few riders pass us on their horses which was lovely.

No toilets which is a downside for me, but its also only a short walk really an hour or two is all you need to enjoy it all.  Go and explore, see if you can spot owl and write to Peter, you never know you might get a reply!
